The ASPH Annual Quality Improvement (QI) event was held on Wednesday 2nd July. It was a great day, filled with energy and enthusiasm from the 80+ attendees. The theme for this year was #improvementmovement – the ASPH social movement for change that is engaging everyone in QI activities across the Trust. Colleagues from across ASPH, RSH and the wider system joined for a varied and interesting programme. Louise Stead, Group CEO, opened the day and reminded everyone that each individual has an important part to play in improvement.
Sally Greensmith, Head of Improvement Partnership, and Dr Keefai Yeong, Clinical Lead for QI, shared highlights of the Improvement Team’s work over that last year with an impressive 1 100+ people touched by QI training from half an hour at induction to the one-day QI Academy!
Professor Charles Vincent was this year’s guest speaker and gave a very thought-provoking presentation about improvement and risk management, sharing insights and experience from his extensive research.
During the day teams and individuals showcased their improvement work through presentations, the interactive world café session and poster competition.
Lisa Carver, Carver Coaching, facilitated a highly interactive and fun session finishing the day with some ‘Lego Serious Play’ where everyone built their actions to take away!
A huge part of this event is celebration– a chance for people to take a bit of ‘time out’ and for their work to be recognised. The Improvement Partnership Team produced some delicious home-made cakes for the afternoon tea break, which were much appreciated by all – “so nice to be valued” was one comment.
