The International Forum on Quality and Safety in Healthcare is a series of international conferences that inform and inspire healthcare leaders, practitioners and patients towards a better, safer and higher quality of care.

The Forum supports and energises the movement for patient safety and healthcare improvement by bringing together knowledge, ideas and expertise that inform quality projects and practice transformation worldwide.

At this year’s conference, held in Utrecht, 22nd-23rd May, ASPH presented 3 posters to showcase and share our work to improve the Diabetic Foot Infection (DFI) Pathway and to create the ASPH Improvement Movement.

Dr Kanupriya Bajaj, junior clinical lead and Cathy Parsons, IV at Home specialist nurse, both presented posters demonstrating the impact that a new DFI clinic held on Willow Day Unit has had during its first year of operation. Other changes, including a streamlined referral pathway for GPs and a new orthopaedic foot and ankle consultant have also enabled a more efficient and effective service for people with DFI.

Sally Greensmith, Head of Improvement Partnership, presented the ASPH Improvement Movement, sharing key points and learning, hoping to inspire other healthcare organisations to create their own social movements for change!
