‘Be the Change’ launched in February 2014 as a programme conceived by junior doctors (F1s), based on social movement theory and inspired by the national NHS Change Day.

We aim to empower all staff to identify quality improvement opportunities in their own areas and to empower people to make improvements themselves.

The vision for the programme is that it enables:

  • A structure that empowers all staff to come forward with ideas for change and improvement
  • ‘Bottom-up’ change to be accessible to all staff who wish to participate
  • Opportunities for Change Champions to develop in their roles
  • Successes to be celebrated

If you are interested in getting involved in the programme, or if you are just looking for some support or inspiration to get started, there are a number of ways to do it.

Anyone who would like to learn more about Quality Improvement can do so by coming along to one of our QI Open Sessions or we would be happy to come and talk to you.

Either contact us via the 'get in touch' page or you can check when the next open sessions are via the 'events' page.

If you have an idea for improvement or if you have identified a problem that impacts on patients and/or staff – you can submit it via the 'change portal' via the main menu.

Submit your idea for improvement using the change portal and you will receive a response from a member of the team ASAP and we try to support as many of these ideas as possible.

If you are ready to get started with your project, there are a number of useful resources and tips available in the app including the 'Be the Change' project pack to help guide you through the process.

We hope you find all of this helpful and we hope you can get involved in 'Be the Change' soon.
